Chemical Insights into Biological Processes
August 15, 2008 - August 16, 2008
NCI-Frederick, Building 549
The Center for Cancer Research and the Chemistry and Structural Biology Faculty invite you to attend a chemical biology symposium, entitled "Chemical Insights into Biological Processes", on August 15-16, 2008, in Frederick, Maryland. This two day event will focus on emerging and state-of-the-art chemistry approaches to difficult biological problems, with special emphasis on cancer and HIV/AIDS. Please note that those wishing to present a poster should plan to submit an abstract no later than July 1.
Workshop on Post-Transcriptional Regulation of Viral Gene Expression
August 21, 2008 - August 23, 2008
Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria, VA
The goal of the workshop is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for workers on different viral systems as well as cellular systems relevant to viral processes to exchange results and ideas. The meeting is sponsored by the Cancer Research Institute, the National Cancer Institute, the Myles H. Thaler Center for AIDS and Human Retrovirus Research at the University of Virginia, and the Center for Retrovirus Research of the Ohio State University. Organizers: Drs. Kathleen Boris-Lawrie, Hung Fan, Marie-Louise Hammarskjöld and David Rekosh.
The 3rd International Conference on Retroviral Integrase: Molecular Biology and Pharmacology
September 14, 2008 - September 18, 2008
Marine Biological Laboratory - Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Organizers:
Robert Craigie, NIDDK, NIH
Alan Engelman, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Yves Pommier, Center for Cancer Research, NCI, NIH
9th Annual Symposium on Antiviral Drug Resistance: Targets and Mechanisms
November 16, 2008 - November 19, 2008
Virginia Crossings Resort, Richmond, Virginia.
Sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh and co-sponsored by the HIV Drug Resistance Program, NCI, this annual meeting brings together researchers in a variety of virus systems to exchange new information on viral targets for therapy, on antiviral drugs, and on resistance to these drugs. The focus is on specific molecular targets, their normal structure and function, their interactions with antiviral drugs, and the evolutionary basis and specific mechanisms of viral resistance. Organized by molecular target, the program includes presentations by invited speakers as well as oral and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts. Details about last year's Symposium, including the program and abstracts, are available at the
